About three years ago, several trees on the House and Senate side of the Capitol were removed to provide space for a Visitors Center. We were able to acquire two of these trees - a Cherry tree which was planted in 1910 as a gift from the citizens of Tokyo, Japan, and a Pin Oak planted in 1916 in memory of Joseph Taggart, a former Kansas member of the House of Representatives.
The King's Lounge & Terrace features an extensive and creative Cocktail List, as well as specializing in Fresh Fruit Martinis and exotic Champagne Cocktails. The bar features its own separate bar food menu with choices ranging from sharing dishes such as Chicken Satay Skewers, Fried Calamari or Beer Battered Shrimp, to Spaghetti Bolognese or Steak and Chips.
